Abstract

The optimal academic achievement of university students is an important expectation for both higher education institutions and the students and their families. Learning outcomes can be influenced by many factors, both internal and external, during the students’ learning process. The role-playing learning method emphasizes learning stimuli through enjoyable situations created from experiential activities. This study aims to determine the effect of the role-playing learning method on students’ learning motivation. In addition, the study also responds to the limited use of this learning method among university students. The research employed questionnaires and field observations, with a census sampling technique involving 79 students. The results of the study conclude that role-playing learning has a positive and significant effect on learning motivation, contributing 68.4%, while the remaining 31.6% is influenced by other factors.
